Here’s a real quick one in case you missed it last week: Major Lazer threw down a full hour of slamming moombahton, trap, dubstep, hip-hop, and more that makes for one hell of a power hour party mix. Crank this one whenever you want to kick off your weekend (really) early and pretend its summer festival season.

So here’s a mix that’s sure to be looping on my stereo for the next few weeks: Knife Party just released dropped “A thundering, electro dubstep mix” that simply put, is a monster. ‘Clever Title Like Deadmau5 Would Use’ Mix includes tons of VIPs from their recent Rage Valley EP, a few new remixes, some unreleased tracks only ever played at their live sets, and a whole mess of underground anthems sure to get you fired up. Certainly not for the weak, this bass-filled mix will send you on 32-minutes of sheer bliss across the EDM scene so be sure to turn your speakers up and rage!
Real quick one here – The always on par Bassnectar (so stoked to see show #5 for me this November at Terminal 5) just released an absolutely epic mixtape in the past day that’s one of his best to date. Classic bass-head tunes, some fresh remixes, samples, and some sick cross-track blending equates to 45 minutes of pure bliss. Turn your speakers way up for this one, cause it hits hard. Enjoy!
Hey all, so I’m half protesting SOPA and PIPA today by only posting a very limited Whompzilla Wednesday that wouldn’t be possible if the legislation passess so click HERE to help make sure that doesn’t happen! In the mean time, MrDUBandBASS (previously featured on W&W for his 7 Wonders of The World Mixtape Here) is back with a double dosage of absolutely filthy, grimy, melt-your-mind-into-a-puddle mixtapes sure to either blow your speakers or your mind, whichever comes first. Both entitled Alien Firepower For Idiots, vol. 1 came out about 7 months ago with vol. 2 only seeing a recent release. These mixtapes are not for the faint of heart and I might say that put together they’re the nastiest tribute to hardcore whomp this site has ever has the pleasure of hosting so if you want to blow off some steam or just really want to piss off your neighbors, give each 30 minute mix a spin and see what you think. I find vol. 2 to have much more polished transitions and a better song selection, but hey to each his own.
Second, and sadly last for today (see, don’t you want more?) Knife Party has come back with a VIP remix of their already filthy take on Nero’s Crush On You, keeping a lot of the same build-ups but adding a whole mess of noise to the drops to kick things up a notch, definitely a cool twist if you’ve heard the original a little too much. Well that’s it, drop by next week for vol. 14 and plenty more good tracks all through the weekend, and as always kick back and enjoy!
Hey everyone, sorry for the delay on the Whompzilla Wednesday filth (it’s finally coming together) but I’ve got a great mini mix in the mean time from Chicago based DJ Rozz. Last time Rozz was featured on W&W it was for his epic Halloween mix (Here) and once again he doesn’t disappoint with what I think is his best mixtape yet taking on the holiday season. I’ve got to say Sleigh Rides and Bass Lines has almost everything popular in the dubstep scene right now, from Skrillex’s remix of Avicii’s Levels to Knife Party’s Fire Hive and everything in between, it packs 16 songs into 25 minutes with a nice blend of some holiday samples and smooth as can be transitions before the bass kicks you in the face. The whole mix just kills it, with Drop Goblin’s Jingle Bell Rock and some Rodney Carington perfectly wrapping it up. Check out the tracklist below and turn this one up, be warned it’s got some filth in the there in the best way possible. Kick back and enjoy!

Today I’ve got one of the more unique hip-hop mixtapes I’ve heard in a while from one of my favorite artists, Lupe Fiasco, that shows just how big electronic is becoming in American music. Friend Of The People: I Fight Evil was released as a treat for the fans over Thanksgiving, and features Lupe going hard on everything from Nero to JUSTICE, The Glitch Mob to Skrillex, Bassnectar to Kaskade, and more with a few guests and some fresh originals throughout. The killer track Light Work (ft. Bassnectar and Ellie Goulding)was featured a while back, but there are a few standouts that I had to feature below to illustrate how diverse Lupe can be when going over various styles, and how much more awesome the mixtape sounds then the artwork would make you believe. Definitely pick up the whole thing, kick back, turn it up, and enjoy!
So I feel like I’ve definitely been missing out on the hip-hop posts recently, but today I’ve got something to make up for all that filth that’s probably still shaking your stereo. Two days ago Gabriel Stark released his newest mixtape, Thank You Starkey, and it’s another example of his awesome ability to lay sick lyrics over almost any beat. W&W featured his single G.I.R.L. (Girl in the Red Lipstick) last week, and while the mixtape is a bit more downtempo then some of his previous releases, i’m totally digging the smooth flow, clever lyrics, and seeming effortless talent at making a solid collection of fresh tracks. I’m featuring Dreamer which samples off Third Eye Blind’s classic (well if you’re a 90s kid) song Jumper, and it just has a super catchy loop, poignent lyrics, and is something to kick back and turn up! If you like what you hear you can download the whole mixtape for free Here.
So today I’ve got a banging new half hour moombahton mix from DJ Benzi, now apparently going under the name Drunkmaster Flex, courtesy ThisSongIsSick.com, one of my favorite music blogs. It has a little bit of everything from Skrillex to Dillon Francis to Diplo, Porter Robinson, and many more, all with Benzi’s signature moombahton spin to get the party going. I love how smooth the edits are and the upbeat vibe most the music puts off, definitely something to crank if you’ve got some spare time or just want to rage. Kick back and turn it up!
Happy Halloween everyone! Hope the raging this weekend was as awesome as expected, as one last treat (no tricks unless blowing up your speakers counts) I’ve got a great compilation of almost all the haunted dubstep going around this month in one 40-minute mix courtesy Chicago-based DJ Rozz. Some of these songs were posted on W&W in the past week, but there’s a lot of fresh stuff including Datsik, 12th Planet, Excision, Rusko, Flux Pavilion, Skrillex, Zeds Dead, Doctor P, Caspa, Nero, Bassnectar, damn the list just keeps going on and it’s heavy as hell. Pick up a full copy below under MP3 or on DJ Rozz’s Soundcloud Here. Enjoy the (actual) holiday, turn this up and rage face!
